Ghost Files allows you to give access to files while automatically redacting sensitive information in files such as PDFs. Ghost Files also can index files and generate tables that can be used in Ghost Databases and then queried as usual.
For example a directory might contain PDFs with a car dealer's repair orders, each of which contain data such as customer name, car make and model, VIN number, replacements parts etc. Dymium will index these files and create a table that has column names such as "Customer Name", "Car Make", "Car Model", "VIN Number", etc. When added to a Ghost Database policy can applied such as obfuscating the Customer Name and redacting the VIN Number. The data can then be accessed like any other table in a Ghost Database.
Adding Fileshares
Before adding a fileshare, make sure you added a NFS share, SMB Share, sFTP, Google Drive or S3 data source first.
Provide a "Fileshare Name", and enable or disable "PII Redaction" and "Smart Indexing"
PII Redaction will redact sensitive information in documents when accessed through Dymium when enabled
Note that the original files do not get alteredSmart Indexing will index the files and create tables of the file shares that can be used in Ghost Databases.
Select the data source from "Available File Sources" and click "Link Connection".
